what is the true meaning of 'friend'? the dictionary definition is an interesting one.
Someone whom you know well and enjoy spending time with. I don't mean to critisize the dictionary. but the definition of 'friend' in that dictionary is totally wrong.
nobody really know what is the true meaning of a friend because the meaning is different to everybody. look at the kindergarten kids now. their idea of a friend will be different from yours.
their idea of a friend is just to find someone to share crayons with. but however different the meaning of friendships is to everybody, it is clearly still one of the most imporant things in everybody's lives. and thats why we shouldn't take friendship for granted.
take two people for example. A and B. A and B claim to be the best of friends ever. but A always seem like the one giving in to B. B is a meanie and always talk bad things behind A's back. the both of them quarrel frequently but always make up in the end. A is a sports player while B is someone who prefers the computer to sports. And yet they still seem to be the best of friends.
You will probably think:
What hypocrites. If they aren't friends, no need to pretend what!
OR
Such despos. Maybe they have no other friends and that's why they pretend to stick to each other.
Or ask questions like:
How come A always have to give in to B?
How come B always bitch behind A's back?
How come A and B always quarrel but still remain friends?
Why are they friends anyway? They are just so different.
A and B are friends not because they feel they have to. they are friends because no matter how much they quarrel, they are still friends and will always forgive each other no matter what happens. In reality, A and B's friendship is probably much more stronger and meaningful than some of ours.
this is a post full of crap. but still meaningful. (:
the irony.
